At Brickhouse, our curriculum aims to inspire pupils and develop their confidence to experiment and invent their own works of art.
We want to give our children the opportunity to develop their ability, express their ideas and thoughts about the world, as well as learning about the rich heritage and culture of the British Isles and beyond.
We offer a structure and sequence of lessons throughout key weeks.. The intent is to ensure that pupils produce creative, imaginative work. Children have the opportunity to explore their ideas and record their experiences, as well as exploring the work of others and evaluate different creative ideas. They will have the opportunity to become confident in a variety of techniques including drawing, painting, sculpting, as well as other selected craft skills, e.g. collage, printing, weaving and patterns.
Teachers can assess the children’s work through the art trackers on Insight which are analysed termly by Art Subject leader. These trackers are statements that are based on the national curriculum and show clear progression throughout the year groups.
