School Ethos, Aims & Values

Our School Ethos, Aims & Values

Ethos

All schools have their own unique identity and we believe that at Brickhouse Primary School, we have created a friendly, caring and supportive environment that encourages our pupils to fully learn and develop.

We are a busy, but friendly one form entry primary school, where the staff, children, parents and governors welcome all families to share the very high quality education we provide. We work as a team to create the physical, social and intellectual conditions necessary to promote an effective and improving school, where everyone feels they belong and are valued, secure and respected.

At Brickhouse, our children are happy, safe and well motivated. Our talented staff use their expertise and experience to extend the opportunities of our pupils both in the classroom and in a range of extra-curricular clubs, trips and activities and our strong and committed Governing Body fully supports the school in providing the best possible educational opportunities for all. As school we actively seek to promote community involvement wherever possible.

It is from these foundations that we encourage excellence, share success and enable all children to realise their full potential in preparation for a successful future life.
Essentially, we believe children are our future and our purpose.

Aims

Our school has seven major aims:-

1.     Promote the all around development of each individual child (physical, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual).

2.    Create a happy, secure and stimulating environment with a structured, purposeful way of learning. For this is how children learn best.

3.    Help children to become more aware of the needs and rights of others.

4.    Encourage children to take a responsible attitude to their schooling and to have confidence in themselves.

5.    Assist parents in helping their children to prepare for adult life at home, at work at leisure and as caring, contributing citizens within society.

6.    Provide equality of opportunity for all pupils to experience a variety of learning styles.

7.    Through a partnership approach encourage parents to take an active part in their child’s education.

Values

Our school has three main values, which were determined by the whole staff and with the support of parents and governors. They are:

1.      Relationships

2.     Innovative Learning

3.     Success
