Class reading texts:

Our current class reading for pleasure text is 'Matilda' by Roald Dahl. 

These are the books that we have read so far...  

PE days: Monday and Thursday.

Please ensure your child has a PE kit in school on these days, along with removing any jewellery too! It would be really helpful if all PE kit and uniform items were named clearly. 

Home Learning and Spellings:

Home learning will be sent out each FRIDAY and will be expected to be returned to school by the following WEDNESDAY. Your child will also have weekly spellings to learn at home each FRIDAY and a spelling test will be completed in school the following Friday. 

Spellings for this half term will be common exception words. These are words that can not be sounded out.

Reading books:

Reading books will currently be changed daily. Children in KS1 should be accessing decodable phonics books that they can fully read independently, with sounds that they have previously been taught. These home readers will be slightly easier that the books children read with an adult in school. 

Don't forget...if you read at least 4 times a week, all term, you will get a special afternoon treat with Mr Newby!!
